Children's Cancer Rainbow Appeal

The Children's Cancer Rainbow Appeal was launched in 2002 to raise £470,000 to improve facilities for local children with cancer, and completed in 2004.

Since opening the Children's Cancer Unit, local children have a purpose built, dedicated Unit to receive their treatment and care in a family friendly environment.

Previously nursed on open wards, children with cancer now have their own ward with spacious rooms and en-suite facilities.  Rooms include an extra bed for a family member to stay overnight.

The children have their own outdoor play area.
