The Chemotherapy Day Unit

The Chemotherapy Day Unit opened in 2000. 

Before the Unit opened, Chemotherapy was administered in a small room off Ward 21, and patients had to sit in corridors to wait for their treatment. 

The current Unit is light and bright, and offers a comfortable area for prolonged Chemotherapy treatment.

This nice waiting area has now been changed to give treatment to prevent increased waiting lists

Since the Unit was opened the number of patients being treated has doubled, and there is now a need to extend the facilities to avoid long waiting lists.
